If the state forces Christian County to be a Class 1 county, the required pay raise's to county employees (including commissioners, prosecutors, etc. plus additional services that will be required to be provided) will create a need for nearly a 25% increase in revenue. Where do you suppose this money will come from?
Since the county's revenue is from sales tax, we will all be paying a higher sales tax. I believe this is the most important issue which faces our county at this present time. I would like to work with the presiding commissioner and our state legislators to return this important issue to the citizens of Christian County. (Government by the people, from the people or bottom up, not from the state or top down).
